Highlander have been nominated for another 2 business awards this time in the HSBC annual Scottish Export awards.
The categories we have been nominated for are:
Most entrepreneurial exporter of the year
A company that has demonstrated entrepreneurial flair within their export strategy. This will be shown through an extraordinary approach to reaching new markets where creativity, innovation and tenacity has resulted in success.
Small exporter of the year
Recognising outstanding achievements by a company in any industry with a turnover of between £1-£15m. The small exporter award will recognise a company that has demonstrated outstanding achievements in export growth.
Stephen Duffy commented: “Given the imbalance in waste paper generated against lack of processing capacity in the UK, exports of this vital raw material is not only desirable but essential! In order to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the paper exporters, we have looked to markets such as Germany, France, Pakistan and have even sent some materials to Afghanistan! Currently about 40% of our waste paper is exported and we anticipate this may go above 50% in the next year or two so it is vital for us to think out the box a bit with our export strategy and we are delighted that our approach has been vindicated with another nomination in these prestigious awards”
