Highlander International are delighted to announce the recruitment of a new team member Geraldine O’Brien, our new Business and Market Development Executive.
Geraldine’s new role will be specifically aimed at growing the business within the local area, starting from East Kilbride and covering a radius of up to 30 miles. Our depot currently handles about 400 tons per week of recovered paper and it is our target to get to a figure of 500 tons per week by the end of 2015 a target that can only be met by robust promotion of the company’s service within the locale. Geraldine has vast sales and business development experience and we are delighted to have her on board and we are certain that our customer base and service levels will improve as we will now have a full time liaison for potential customers.
Stephen Duffy commented: The company has developed dramatically in the last 12 months, between purchasing our premises, installing 2 balers, shredder and reel splitter, plus recruitment of new people within the processing operations, we have been busier than we have ever been in our 12 year history! We don’t want to rest on our laurels however we have big plans for 2015 and hope to further invest in the company by way of new collection vehicles and containers. With this in mind we need someone to represent the company and after a thorough recruitment process Geraldine was by far the outstanding candidate, with excellent customer service and sales skills. Already, we have noticed a marked difference since she started and her enthusiasm and determination being will be a valuable asset to the company.
Having no experience within the industry has not hampered Geraldine she keenly undertook a 5 week induction down in the factory learning about the grades, collection systems, machinery, services and general workings of a waste paper depot!
To take advantage of our no-obligation, complimentary waste survey and to meet Geraldine in person, please contact us at 01355 524215 and we will be delighted to visit at a time convenient to you!
